About Mark
Mark is an experienced individual and family counsellor who specializes in working with adults and youth coping with social and emotional challenges, mental health concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and/or substance use issues. He also supports individuals in managing difficult relationships and those considering significant life changes.
Mark takes a client-centered approach, believing the counselling relationship is a unique partnership, designed to build on the client’s intrinsic strengths. Through this process, clients experience empowerment, build resilience, and learn to take control of their own lives.
With over 14 years of experience as a therapist, both in his private practice and with Vancouver Coastal Health on various mental health and substance use teams, Mark has a wealth of practical expertise. He holds a Master’s of Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers and the BC Association of Social Workers.
Mark’s greatest strength lies in building rapport with individuals of all ages, identities, and life situations. He takes a non-judgmental and empathetic approach, truly getting to know his clients and providing them with the support they need.
Mark has a deep understanding of issues related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance use, work/school-life balance, family dynamics, and relationship challenges, which enables him to effectively support individuals and families (ages 14 and up). He also takes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach (CBT), along with incorporating various holistic approaches which he integrates into his practice to provide practical and evidence-based solutions.
